...Caring for your pets when you can't

What does a pet sitter do?

Caring pet owners know that most pets adjust better to their owners' absence and experience less anxiety and stress when they can remain in their home environments.  We, as pet sitters, make this possible with daily visits to your home.  That's why in-home pet care is the choice of pet owners and the pet-preferred method of vacation and travel care.

Advantages for your pet?

  • Your pet stays in its own familiar secure environment
  • Familiar routines for diet and exercise are kept with no interruptions
  • There is minimal exposure to illness of other animals
  • Most importantly, your pet receives love and personal attention while you are away

Advantages for you?

  • A professional pet sitter provides peace of mind for everyone without imposing on family and friends
  • Your home is made more secure by no interruption of mail or paper delivery

Any advance preparation needed?

  • Make sure you provide a phone number where you can be reached at all times, along with your vet's contact information
  • Identify any visitors that might be at your house
  • Provide a house key (if new key, make sure it works) and/or garage access
  • Identify household areas that are off-limits to your pets and secure access
  • Identify any health issues your pet may have, no matter how minor
  • Identify any favorite hiding places that your pets might have
  • Pets should be flea-free as infestations multiply very quickly and can cause your pets some health problems
  • If your dog is not accustomed to walking on a leash, practice with him before you leave
  • Supply towels to wipe dirty paws
  • If during the "get-acquainted visit, your dog growls or snaps at the pet sitter, alternative arrangements for your dog's care during your absence might be required
